Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over central parts of the state directing an easterly flow over northern parts. A weak trough over the west Pilbara will move eastwards on Thursday and into the Kimberley on Friday. A high pressure system develops over the south of the State on the weekend, pushing another fresh east to southeasterly flow over northern parts.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front is moving through southern parts of the State, with another cold front and cold unstable air mass to follow on Thursday. A weak ridge of high pressure will develop through central parts of the State on Friday, with a weak cold front moving slowly through southern parts during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 26 June
Rain over the south and west Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, with thunderstorms possible over the Goldfields. Showers over the remainder of the South West Land Division, with thunderstorms possible southwest of Jurien Bay to Hopetoun. Damaging winds possible with showers and thunderstorms southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Thursday 27 June
Showers through the South West Land Division, with thunderstorms and small hail possible southwest of a line Jurien Bay to Hopetoun. Damaging winds possible with showers and thunderstorms southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay, most likely in the morning. Showers over the Gascoyne, far western Pilbara, Goldfields, southwest Interior and Eucla, easing during the day.
Forecast for Friday 28 June
Showers, thunderstorms and small hail near the south coast, and along the west coast south of Jurien Bay in the morning. Showers possible over the southern Gascoyne, northern South West Land Division and northern Goldfields in the morning. Showers over the South Interior and the Eucla, with small hail possible near the Eucla coast later in the day.
Forecast for Saturday 29 June
Showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to Albany. Showers possible along the southern and Eucla coasts east of Esperance in the morning, with small hail possible along the eastern Eucla coast.
Forecast for Sunday 30 June
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Hopetoun.
