Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Tropical Cyclone Wallace lies well north of the west Pilbara coast and continues to move west southwest and remain well north of Pilbara coastal waters. waters. For more information refer to the latest Tropical Cyclone information bulletin at http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/. A second low pressure system lies to the north of Kalumburu and will move west over the coming days, away from the Kimberley coast. A broad trough lies along the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies south of the State with a surface trough deepening near the west coast. The trough will move slowly inland on Wednesday and move further east on Thursday as a weak front brushes the southwest of the State with a high pressure system moving south of the State on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 9 April
Rain and squally thunderstorms with possible heavy falls over the far north Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley and east Pilbara coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 10 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and along the east Pilbara Coast. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over eastern parts of the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne and western Goldfields.
Forecast for Thursday 11 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the far north and west Kimberley, the Pilbara, Gascoyne, western Goldfields and eastern South West Land Division. Showers about southwestern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 12 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the far north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla. Showers about southern coastal parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 13 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible near the far northwest Kimberley coast. Showers and thunderstorms over the western Pilbara, Gascoyne and adjacent northern Goldfields and Central West district. Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
