Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends across the north. A ridge developing
through central Australia will push the trough closer to the Kimberley and
Pilbara coasts on Tuesday. The trough will move back inland from late Wednesday
as a new trough develops over western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge over southern WA is moving east, while a weak cold front brushes past
the southwest coast today. A trough developing over western Gascoyne will
extend along the west coast on Tuesday, moving inland on Wednesday ahead of an
approaching cold front. A series of cold fronts will then cross southwest WA in
the second half of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 5 October
Light showers south of a line Perth to Bremer Bay, clearing by late afternoon.
Afternoon showers and chance of a thunderstorm over the north and east
Kimberley, and adjacent northeastern parts of North Interior, clearing in the
early evening. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest.
Forecast for Tuesday 6 October
Afternoon and evening showers and possible gusty thunderstorms over the
southern Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields, northern and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division. Afternoon showers and chance of a thunderstorm over
the northern Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over southern parts of the South
West Land Division and adjacent Eucla. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest.
Windy at times over western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Wednesday 7 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southeast Gascoyne, eastern parts of
the South West Land Division, southern and central Goldfields, Eucla and South
Interior, mainly in the morning. Sight chance of a shower about the west coast,
showers becoming frequent south of a line Harvey to Albany in the late
afternoon and evening. Afternoon showers over the northern and eastern
Kimberley. Windy at times over northern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Thursday 8 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, southern and central Goldfields, Eucla, and South
Interior. Rain areas and showers over the remainder of the South West Land
Division, remainder of southern and western Gascoyne. Afternoon showers and
chance of a thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Windy at
times over southern, central and northwest WA.
Forecast for Friday 9 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over eastern Goldfields, Eucla, southern and
central Interior, and eastern parts of South East Coastal. Light showers over
the South West Land Division, southern and coastal Gascoyne, and remainder of
western and central parts of the Goldfields. Windy over the Goldfields,
Interior, Eucla and along the south coast.
