Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley to the western Pilbara coast with a high
pressure ridge dominating inland parts. From Friday the ridge weakens, and the
trough shifts to the east before decaying over the weekend. A new ridge will
then form from Sunday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends down the west coast while a strong high pressure ridge lies
over central Western Australia. The trough will move east ahead of a cold front
crossing the South West Land Division Friday, reaching the Eucla by Saturday.
Behind this, a new high pressure ridge moves over the south of the state.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 17 September
Chance of a shower about inland western parts of the State. Possible evening
showers about the South West. Unseasonably warm over the South West Land
Division and Gascoyne. Fresh and gusty winds through the Goldfields, Gascoyne
and South West Land Division, easing after sunset.

Forecast for Friday 18 September
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne and southwest
Goldfields, most widespread about southwestern parts of the South West Land
Division. Chance of a thunderstorm, mainly afternoon and evening, near the west
coast south of Mandurah and over eastern parts of the South West Land Division
and adjacent Goldfields. Possible afternoon showers over the far north
Kimberley. Remaining very warm through the inland Gascoyne into the Goldfields,
Eucla and eastern South West Land Division, but tending milder about the west
coast. Areas of morning fog over inland southern and western parts of the South
West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 19 September
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western
Eucla, mostly morning and contracting to coastal parts between Perth and Bremer
Bay by evening. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Eucla and
adjacent South Interior. Possible afternoon and early-evening showers about the
north and west Kimberley. Windy over southern parts of the state. Very warm
from the Interior into the Eucla, but tending milder in the Goldfields,
southern and western Gascoyne and eastern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 20 September
Showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Hyden to Israelite Bay.
Possible showers and thunderstorms in the South Interior. Mainly afternoon
showers possible about the north Kimberley. Tending milder in the Eucla and
adjacent Interior. Hot in the Pilbara.

Forecast for Monday 21 September
Showers southwest of a line from Bunbury to Bremer Bay. Possible showers and
thunderstorms in the South Interior, northern Goldfields and adjacent Gascoyne.
Chance of an afternoon shower over the north and west Kimberley. Becoming
warmer over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, and eastern and central parts of the
South West Land Division.
