Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley to the western Pilbara coast with a ridge
dominating inland parts. From Friday the ridge weakens, and the trough over
western Pilbara moves east for the start of the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends down the west coast with a strong high pressure system moving
east out of the Bight. On Thursday the trough becomes mobile and moves east
ahead of a cold front crossing the South West Land Division Friday, reaching
Eucla by Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 16 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the central Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, adjacent South Interior and Goldfields, inland Central West, Lower
West and northern and western Wheat Belt. Chance of a shower over the South
West and western Great Southern, and over the the north Kimberley. Warm over
the Pilbara, Gascoyne and western parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 17 September
Showers possible, mostly afternoon and early evening, over the western Pilbara,
inland parts of the Lower West, Central West and western Gascoyne, and through
the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and South Coastal District. Possible
evening showers about the South West Capes. Morning fog possible about coastal
areas of the Gascoyne and northern parts of the Central West. Unseasonably warm
over the South West Land Division and Gascoyne. Windy across much of the state.

Forecast for Friday 18 September
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, southwest
Goldfields and western Eucla, most widespread about southwestern parts of the
South West Land Division. Chance of a thunderstorm near the west coast south of
Lancelin and over eastern parts of the South West Land Division, southern and
central Goldfields and far western Eucla. An afternoon shower over the north
Kimberley. Very warm through the inland Gascoyne into the Goldfields, Eucla and
eastern South West Land Division. Tending milder about the west coast.

Forecast for Saturday 19 September
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western
Eucla, mostly morning and contracting to coastal parts between Cape Naturaliste
and Albany by evening. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the eastern
Eucla and southern South Interior. Possible afternoon and early-evening showers
about the north and west Kimberley. Windy over southern parts of the state.
Very warm from the Interior into the Eucla, but tending milder in the
Goldfields, southern and western Gascoyne and eastern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 20 September
Showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Lake Grace to Israelite
Bay. Possible showers and thunderstorms in the South Interior. Mainly afternoon
showers possible about the north and west Kimberley. Tending milder in the
Eucla and adjacent Interior. Hot in the Pilbara.
