Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Pilbara coast to the eastern Interior. A ridge
developing through central Australia from Wednesday will push the trough closer
to the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts on Thursday, before the trough weakens into
Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough and associated low pressure system is slow moving over the Interior,
and will weaken during Wednesday. A strong high in the Bight is extending a
ridge over much of the south of the state. The high will move east on Thursday
as a west coast trough develops. The west coast trough will move east ahead of
an approaching cold front on Friday evening.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 7 September
Showers with areas of rain and the chance of gusty thunderstorms over the
Goldfields, southern and central Interior and Eucla. Heavy falls possible over
the eastern Goldfields, South Interior and inland Eucla. Showers or drizzle
over the Great Southern, South Coastal, South East Coastal and eastern
Gascoyne. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast. Windy
across central and southeastern parts of the state.
Forecast for Tuesday 8 September
Showers with areas of rain and the chance of gusty thunderstorms over the
Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the eastern
Goldfields, South Interior and inland Eucla. Showers and drizzle over the Great
Southern, southern parts of the Central Wheat Belt, eastern Gascoyne and South
Coastal and South East Coastal districts. Chance of an afternoon or evening
shower over the eastern Kimberley. Windy across central and southern parts of
the state.
Forecast for Wednesday 9 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast Goldfields,
Interior, southeast Kimberley and northern Eucla. Showers over remaining parts
of the Eucla and eastern parts of the Gascoyne and South West Land Division.
Chance of an afternoon shower near the north Kimberley coast. Windy over
central and southern parts of the state.
Forecast for Thursday 10 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast Goldfields,
Interior, northern Eucla and eastern Kimberley. Showers over remaining parts of
the Eucla and far eastern South East Coastal district. Windy over eastern parts
of the state.
Forecast for Friday 11 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the Interior, Eucla and southeast
Kimberley. Afternoon or evening showers possible near the north Kimberley
coast. Showers developing in the evening about the South West Capes.
