Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough across the Pilbara and North Interior is moving inland and will weaken
by Saturday, whilst a ridge over the Gascoyne supports a brief southerly change
over the western Pilbara today. A new trough will develop across the western
Pilbara on Saturday and extend to the North Interior on Sunday as it moves
inland.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A moderate cold front will continue east along the south coast this afternoon
and evening. A weak ridge persisting over central WA will dissipate on
Saturday. A stronger cold front will cross the South West Land Division on
Saturday night, transforming into a slow moving trough and low pressure system
across the Goldfields and South Interior from Sunday until the middle of next
week. A new ridge will develop over the Bight from Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 4 September
Light showers and drizzle over the south coast. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over southern parts of the South Interior and eastern Eucla.
Chance of an afternoon shower about the north and west Kimberley coasts. Windy
across southeastern parts, tending very windy at times about the south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 5 September
Showers over the western parts of the South West Land Division and western
Gascoyne. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the coast between Kalbarri and
Mandurah. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast.
Possible morning fog over the inland South West Land Division, adjacent
southern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, and northwest Kimberley. Becoming windy
about the western Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara and Central West coast in the
late afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Sunday 6 September
Showers and areas of rain over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne,
southwest Pilbara, Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla. Chance of gusty
thunderstorms about the central west coast and inland central WA. Heavy falls
possible over the Goldfields. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north
Kimberley coast. Possible morning fog over northwest Kimberley. Windy across
much of the state, excluding the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 7 September
Showers and areas of rain over the eastern parts of the South West Land
Division, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern and central Interior and
Eucla. Chance of gusty thunderstorms over the northeastern Goldfields, southern
and central Interior, and Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the east Goldfields,
southern Interior and eastern Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about the
north Kimberley coast. Possible morning fog over northwest Kimberley. Windy
across central and southeastern parts.

Forecast for Tuesday 8 September
Showers over the eastern South West Land Division, east Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior, and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm over the northeast Goldfields,
east Eucla, and much of the Interior. Heavy falls possible over the east
Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about
the north Kimberley coast. Windy across central and southern parts.
