Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over central Australia is moving away, allowing a trough across the
Pilbara and southwest Kimberley to move inland and weaken. A ridge over the
Gascoyne will bring a southerly change to western Pilbara briefly on Friday
before a new trough moves through the Pilbara during Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front is brushing past the southwest coast today, followed by a
moderate cold front over the southwest of the state on Thursday night and
Friday. A stronger cold front will cross the South West Land Division during
Saturday, transforming into a slow moving trough and low pressure system
through inland southern WA on Sunday. Meanwhile, a weak ridge persisting over
central WA will dissipate early Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 2 September
Light showers south of a line from Dongara to Israelite Bay, and over Eucla
district, more frequent about the South West and South Coastal districts. Light
shower possible after the north Kimberley coast in the afternoon.

Forecast for Thursday 3 September
Showers south of a line from Geraldton to Merredin to Norseman. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over southern parts of South Interior and eastern Eucla.
Light shower possible in the afternoon about the north and northwest Kimberley
coasts. Possible morning fog about the north and west Kimberley coasts, over
inland parts of the South West Land Division, southwest Goldfields and Eucla.
Chance of morning frost over eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt and
adjacent southwest Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 4 September
Showers over the South West Land Division and adjacent southern Gascoyne,
contracting to the south coast in the afternoon. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over the far southeast Goldfields, southern parts of the South
Interior and eastern Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north
Kimberley coast. Possible morning fog about the north and west Kimberley
coasts. Windy about the southwest and south coasts.

Forecast for Saturday 5 September
Showers over the western parts of the South West Land Division, western
Gascoyne. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the coast between Geraldton and
Cape Naturaliste. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley
coast. Possible morning fog over the inland South West Land Division, adjacent
southern Goldfields, and southwest Gascoyne. Becoming windy about western
Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara and Central West coast in the late afternoon and
evening.

Forecast for Sunday 6 September
Showers and areas of rain over the the South West Land Division, Gascoyne,
southwest Pilbara, Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla. Chance of gusty
thunderstorms about west coast and inland southern WA. Heavy falls possible
over the Goldfields. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley
coast. Possible morning fog about the northwest Kimberley coast. Windy across
much of the state in the area south of northern Kimberley.
