Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge will remain over central Australia until later next week, directing an
easterly flow across the eastern parts. Meanwhile, a broad slow moving trough
extends from the west Kimberley into the Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough near the west coast will move east on Monday ahead of a weak
cold front moving over the southwest of the state later Monday and Tuesday. A
weak ridge will extend over the lower west coast and push east in the wake of
the cold front. Another weak cold front will brush past the south coast in the
middle of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 30 August
Showers over eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, and
adjacent South Interior, with the chance of showers over the southern and
remaining inland parts of the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne,
remaining western and southern South Interior, and Eucla. Showers mostly
clearing in the early evening.
Forecast for Monday 31 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
becoming more frequent about the South West district later in the day. Areas of
morning fog over western parts of the South West Land Division, southwest
Gascoyne and northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 1 September
Light showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla
coast, mostly clearing by evening. Chance of an afternoon shower about the
northeast Kimberley coast. Areas of morning fog over northern and central parts
of the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne and northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 2 September
Light showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley
coast. Possible morning fog over northwest Kimberley. Chance of morning frost
over the Great Southern and southern parts of the Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Thursday 3 September
Showers over southwestern parts of the south West Land Division, extending east
along the south coast later in the day. Chance of showers and thunderstorms
over the eastern Goldfields, southern south Interior and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Monday.
