Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge will remain over central Australia until later next week, directing an
easterly flow across the eastern parts. Meanwhile, a slow moving trough extends
from the west Kimberley into the Pilbara. Associated patchy cloud band across
Pilbara and central Interior will dissipate on Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extending from the Gascoyne, across Goldfields to the Esperance region
is moving westwards as an easterly flow develops due to a high pressure system
establishing in the Bight. Associated cloud band will linger across inland
southern WA through the weekend. Winds turning warmer northeasterly on Sunday
as the westward moving trough nears the west coast. A cold front will move
through the southwest of the state later Monday, pushing the west coast trough
inland again. Another weak front will brush past the south coast middle of next
week.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 29 August
Showers with the chance of gusty thunderstorms over eastern parts of Central
Wheat Belt, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and South Interior. Light showers
over remaining parts of the South West Land Division, remaining eastern and
southwest Gascoyne, eastern Pilbara and far southwestern parts of North
Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 30 August
Showers with the chance of thunderstorms over the Goldfields and adjacent South
Interior, easing in the afternoon and evening. Chance of light showers or
drizzle over the South West Land Division, inland Gascoyne, Eucla and western
Pilbara. Possible morning fog over southern and inland parts of the South West
Land Division. Windy in the morning through North Interior.
Forecast for Monday 31 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
frequent about the South West district in the afternoon. Areas of morning fog
over western parts of the South West Land Division and northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 1 September
Light showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla.
Chance of an afternoon shower about the northeast Kimberley coast. Areas of
morning fog over northern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Gascoyne and northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 2 September
Light showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley
coast. Possible morning fog over northwest Kimberley. Chance of morning frost
over the Great Southern and southern parts of the Central Wheat Belt.
