Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough over the inland Kimberley and North Interior will deepen back
over the Pilbara coast on Friday. The trough will then push towards the
southeast during the weekend as a new ridge extends into the Pilbara from the
west. Meanwhile, a cloud band extends from the western and southern Pilbara
into the Interior through to Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge lies across southern WA. A trough will deepen down the west coast
from late Friday, moving inland later on Saturday ahead of another weak cold
front reaching the lower west coast on Sunday. A new ridge will begin to
develop across the west coast later Sunday and into Monday behind the trough
and as the weak cold front moves east along the south coast. Meanwhile, a cloud
band extends from the Gascoyne, through central parts and into the Interior,
and will persist into the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 20 August
Showers and areas of rain beneath a cloud band from the far southwestern
Pilbara into the northern and central Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South
Interior. Light showers over the southwest and southern coastal parts of the
South West Land Division, mostly clearing by evening.

Forecast for Friday 21 August
Showers and areas of rain across the southern Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, South Interior, northern parts of Central West and northwestern
Central Wheat Belt districts. Chance of a thunderstorm over the southern
Gascoyne and inland northern Central West District in the afternoon and
evening. Chance of an early-morning shower over the south coast west of
Esperance. Areas of morning fog inland from the coast over the southern half of
the South West Land Division, and in the northern Kimberley. Patchy frost over
the inland southern and central South West Land Division and southern
Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 22 August
Showers over the southern and western Pilbara, Gascoyne, north and central
Goldfields, Interior and northern and western parts of the South West Land
Division, extending into the southern Goldfields and central and eastern South
West Land Division during the evening. Chance of a thunderstorm over northern
parts of the South West Land Division, adjacent southern Gascoyne and
central-eastern parts of the Interior. Areas of morning fog over inland
southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Eucla and northern
Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 23 August
Light showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, and southern and
eastern Gascoyne, contracting to the south coastal districts and eastern
Goldfields by evening. Showers through the Interior and Eucla, with the chance
of thunderstorms over the Interior and adjacent eastern Goldfields. Areas of
morning fog over the central-eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, and
northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 24 August
Light showers over coastal parts of the South West Land Division, eastern South
East Coastal District, southern Gascoyne, and Eucla. Showers over the southern
and eastern Interior, with the chance of thunderstorms over the central-eastern
Interior. Areas of fog and patchy frost in the morning over the inland southern
South West Land Division. Areas of morning fog over the far north Kimberley.
