Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough over the inland Kimberley will deepen back towards the Pilbara
coast during Thursday night and Friday before pushing towards the southeast
during the weekend. A new ridge will strengthen into the Pilbara in the wake of
the trough. Meanwhile, a cloud band will extend from the western and southern
Pilbara into the Interior through to Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front brushing the south coast will contract southeastward into the
Bight tonight. A weak ridge through central parts of the State will shift to
lie over southern WA on Thursday and Friday. A trough will deepen down the west
coast from late Friday before pushing inland on Saturday, ahead of another weak
cold front slated to reach the lower west coast on Sunday. Meanwhile, a cloud
band extends from the Gascoyne into the Interior and will persist through the
next few days until a new ridge starts to strengthen from the west during the
weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 19 August
Showers within a cloud band through the southwestern Pilbara, north-central
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Interior. Chance of light showers over
the lower west coast and south coastal districts.

Forecast for Thursday 20 August
Showers and areas of rain beneath a cloud band from the southern Pilbara into
the northern and central Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Isolated light
showers over the southwest part of the South West Land Division. Light showers
over the southwest and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
contracting to the south coast by the evening. Areas of morning fog and frost
over inland parts of South West Land Division, far southern Goldfields, and
adjacent Eucla.

Forecast for Friday 21 August
Showers and areas of rain across southern Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, South Interior and northern parts of Central West. Chance of an
early-morning shower over the south coast west of Esperance. Areas of morning
fog inland from the coast over the southern half of the South West Land
Division, and in the far northwest Kimberley. Patchy frost over the inland
southern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 22 August
Showers over the southern and western Pilbara, Gascoyne, north-central
Goldfields, Interior and northern and western parts of the South West Land
Division, extending into the southern Goldfields and eastern South West Land
Division during the evening. Chance of a thunderstorm over northern parts of
the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne. Areas of morning fog over
inland southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 23 August
Showers over the South West Land Division and Goldfields, contracting to the
south coastal districts and eastern Goldfields by evening. Morning showers in
the Gascoyne and southern Goldfields. Showers through the Interior and Eucla,
with the chance of thunderstorms over the Interior and adjacent eastern
Goldfields. Slight chance of an afternoon shower in the far northern Kimberley.
