Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge in place over northern WA will weaken from west to east during tonight
and Monday as a cold front and trough pass through central and southern parts
of the State. A weak ridge will pass through central WA in the wake of these
features. On Tuesday night and Wednesday, a cloud band will develop through the
Gascoyne.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad ridge of high pressure is giving way over southern WA. A cold front
will pass through the South West Land Division on Monday, followed by a weak
ridge which will extend over central parts of the State. On Wednesday the
northern end of a cold front will brush the southwest corner of the State.
Meanwhile, a cloud band will extend from the Gascoyne into the northern and
eastern Goldfields and Interior during Wednesday and Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 16 August
Chance of a shower over far eastern parts of the South Interior and Eucla.
Cloud increasing about the South West with showers developing late in the
evening about the Capes.

Forecast for Monday 17 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, western and southern Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields and western Eucla. Chance of a shower over the Ningaloo
coast. Chance of a thunderstorm about coastal parts between Perth and Albany,
with possible small hail in the afternoon and evening about the western south
coast. Windy over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne and western
Goldfields.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 August
Showers over the Lower West, South West and coastal parts in the South Coastal
and South East Coastal Districts. Early-morning showers in the Eucla. Possible
light showers from a cloud band through the west Pilbara and northern and
western Gascoyne. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley,
northwestern Wheat Belt, and inland parts of the Central West and western
Gascoyne. Patchy morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt and Great Southern.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Showers and areas of steadier rain from a cloud band extending through the
Gascoyne, adjacent Pilbara, northern and eastern Goldfields, South Interior and
northern Eucla.
Areas of morning fog inland from the coast from the far eastern South West Land
Division into the Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 20 August
Shower and areas of steadier rain from a cloud band through the southwestern
Pilbara, Gascoyne, north-central Goldfields, South Interior and inland Eucla.
Possible showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Israelite Bay,
most likely about coastal parts and the inland South West. Areas of morning fog
over inland parts of South West Land Division and adjacent Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Monday.
