Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Kimberley and North Interior with a ridge
strengthening over the Gascoyne bringing southerly winds to the Pilbara, and
extending to the western and southern Kimberley early Sunday. As the ridge
further expands into central Australia next week, the trough will be pushed out
of WA and an easterly flow will return to the region.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A vigorous and cold southwesterly flow extends east in the wake of a cold front
moving over the central and eastern south coast today with a broad ridge
extends over the the central west coast. The ridge will maintaining a cold
southwesterly flow across southern WA on Sunday. Another cold front will move
through southwest WA on Monday, followed by another ridge on Tuesday and
Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 8 August
Gusty showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla. Gusty thunderstorm over western and
southern districts of the South West Land Division, Eucla, adjacent South
Interior and Goldfields. Small hail possible over much of the South West Land
Division, southern Goldfields and along the Eucla coast. Snow flurries possible
about the higher peaks of the Stirling Ranges this afternoon. Light showers
possible over far southern parts of North Interior. Windy across much of
southern and central WA, very windy along the southwest coast and south coast.
Winds easing over western parts during the evening.

Forecast for Sunday 9 August
Light showers or drizzle about the west coast, southern parts of the South West
Land Division, Eucla and far southern parts of Goldfields, more frequent about
the south coast. Small hail possible in the morning along the south coast east
of Esperance. Areas of morning frost through inland parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields, southeastern Gascoyne, western Eucla and western
parts of South Interior. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 10 August
Showers across the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
southern and western Goldfields and Eucla. Possible thunderstorms over mush of
the South West Land Division. Possible small hail in the southwest corner,
extending east along the south coast during the afternoon. Areas of morning
frost through the eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, far southeast Pilbara
and South Interior. Possible morning fog in the far north Kimberley. Windy
along the west and south coasts.

Forecast for Tuesday 11 August
Light showers or drizzle about the west coast, southern parts of the South West
Land Division, Eucla and southern and eastern Goldfields and southern South
Interior, more frequent about the south coast. Showers contracting to southern
coastal parts by evening. Areas of morning frost through inland parts of the
South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne and inland Eucla.
Possible morning fog in the far north Kimberley and western parts of the South
West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 12 August
Light showers about the south coast east of Esperance. Areas of morning frost
through inland parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern and
eastern Gascoyne, far southeast Pilbara, South Interior, and inland Eucla.
Possible morning fog in the far north Kimberley and inland western parts of the
South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Sunday.
