Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the west Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A ridge will
begin to move in over the western Gascoyne from Friday, strengthening over
central parts of the state on Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge over inland southern WA is moving east ahead of a cold front which
will cross the southwest corner of the state on Thursday afternoon. A stronger
cold front will move over the South West Land Division during Friday night and
Saturday and is associated with a vigorous, cold westerly airstream. A broad
ridge will extend over central WA from Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 5 August
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and southwestern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 6 August
Showers over the inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern South Interior, Eucla
and over southwestern and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Chance of a thunderstorm about the southwest coast and over the Goldfields and
adjacent parts of the South West Land Division, South Interior and Eucla.
Chance of morning fog and frost over inland parts of the South West Land
Division and southern Goldfields. Possible morning fog over the Eucla, northern
Goldfields, inland Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara and near the west Kimberley
coast.

Forecast for Friday 7 August
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern South Interior, Eucla and the
South West Land Division. Chance of a thunderstorm southwest of a line Jurien
Bay to Albany, and over the Eucla and adjacent parts of the Goldfields and
South Interior. Possible morning fog near the west Kimberley coast. Becoming
windy near the southwest coast.

Forecast for Saturday 8 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, with small hail possible across
western and southern districts. Snow flurries possible about the higher peaks
of the Stirling Ranges. Chance of a thunderstorm near the west coast south of
Lancelin as well as along the south coast and through the Eucla district.
Showers also over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla, with the
chance of a shower over the southern Pilbara. Possible morning fog over the
southwest Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 9 August
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Katanning, and along the south coast,
with small hail possible along the south coast east of Esperance. Possible
morning frost through inland parts of the South West Land Division, the
Goldfields and southeast Gascoyne. Possible morning fog over the northwest
Kimberley.
