Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends along the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts as a high pressure
centre in the Great Australian Bight directs easterly winds over the region. A
cloud band lays over central and eastern parts from Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge over the south coast. A
cold front will cross the southwest of the state during Sunday afternoon and
evening, rapidly weakening as it moves further inland on Monday. A ridge will
then establish over southeastern parts of the state during Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 4 July
Showers over the southeast Kimberley and eastern parts of the Interior.
Possible late showers over the southwest capes.
Forecast for Sunday 5 July
Showers developing southwest of Bunbury to Walpole in the morning, extending to
southwest of a line Geraldton to Bremer Bay by midnight. Possible thunderstorms
along the coast between Lancelin and Augusta. Chance of a shower over the
southeast Kimberley. Windy morning across the North Interior and southern
Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 6 July
Showers easing over the South West Land Division. Chance of showers over the
western Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
and Interior. Patchy morning fog over the Goldfields and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 July
Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm over the far east Pilbara and the
Interior. Chance of showers over remaining parts of the southern Kimberley,
central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, and southern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division. Patchy morning fog in the southwest
Goldfields and in central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 July
Showers over the southeast Kimberley and North Interior. The chance of a light
shower about the southwest capes in the morning, extending to southwest of a
line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay by midnight. Patchy morning fog in the
southwest Goldfields and in central and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Sunday.
