Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge will continue to persist across northern Australia into next week,
maintaining cooler and drier southeasterly winds across the northern districts.
A patchy cloud band may bring light showers to western Pilbara briefly on
Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over western WA is contracting east, as a cloud band
extends across the western districts. A cold front will cross the South West
Capes during Sunday and travel across the South West Land Division on Sunday
evening into Monday, stalling over the Goldfields and Esperance regions on
Tuesday before weakening by Wednesday. A new ridge will develop over southwest
WA later Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 20 June
Light shower or drizzle about eastern parts of South East Coastal district,
southeast Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 21 June
Showers developing south of a line Bunbury to Albany in the morning, spreading
to south of a line from Rockingham to Esperance in the afternoon and evening.
Chance of a shower over remaining parts of the South West Land Division,
Gascoyne and far southwest Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm about the
southwest coast. Windy in the morning over southwest Kimberley and eastern
Pilbara.
Forecast for Monday 22 June
Showers south of a line from Gingin to Southern Cross, southern Goldfields and
far western Eucla. Chance of a shower over the remainder of the South West Land
Division, western Goldfields, southern Gascoyne and western Pilbara. Windy in
the morning over eastern Pilbara and North Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 23 June
Showers over eastern and inland parts of the South West Land Division, more
frequent over southern Goldfields, western Eucla and South East Coastal
district. Chance of a shower over remaining parts of the South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne and far southern South Interior, mainly in the
morning.
Forecast for Wednesday 24 June
Showers over eastern South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Eucla and
far southern South Interior, more frequent about the Esperance coast, easing in
the afternoon. Possible morning fog over inland parts of the South West Land
Division, southern Goldfields, western Eucla and southern parts of South
Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Sunday.
