Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough along the Pilbara coast will expand to the Kimberley on Saturday, as a
ridge over inland parts weakens. A new ridge will strengthen through inland
parts of northern WA from Sunday, moving the trough closer to the west coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will continue moving eastwards through the Great Australian
Bight tonight, a ridge developing over the south coast on Thursday. A west
coast trough is slowly moving through central parts of the State ahead of the
next cold front on Friday night. The cold front will weaken on Saturday as it
moves east across the South West Land Division, and a new ridge will develop
over southern and central parts in its wake.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 15 April
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the southern Pilbara, Gascoyne,
northwestern Goldfields, western Interior and across much of the South West
Land Division. Areas of smoke haze over the South West Land Division and
Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 16 April
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the southern Pilbara, southern
and eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, western parts of the South Interior, western
Eucla and much of the South West Land Division. Areas of smoke haze over the
South West Land Division and Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 17 April
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over central and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, the southern Interior, Eucla, southeast Gascoyne and
Goldfields. Showers becoming frequent southwest of a line Mandurah to Albany in
the late afternoon and evening. Possible morning fog over the western Gascoyne,
western parts of Central West and adjacent Lower West district. Becoming windy
about the southwest coast.
Forecast for Saturday 18 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the southern Interior, eastern Goldfields, Eucla
and eastern parts of the South East Coastal district. Showers over the South
West Land Division, contracting north and east during the day and clearing in
the afternoon and evening. Possible morning fog over the Central West district.
Windy about the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 19 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over the southern Interior and eastern Eucla. Light showers about
the southwest corner of the State.
