Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough persists over inland parts of northern WA. A ridge over central
Australia directs an easterly flow into the Kimberley, weakening slightly from
today.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is extending south of the State with a trough extending
from the northeast Gascoyne and into the northern Goldfields. The trough moves
east from Wednesday and a new trough begins to develop near the west coast on
Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 6 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the southeastern Gascoyne,
Goldfields, southern South Interior, Eucla and inland South East Coastal
district. Thunderstorms may be severe over central parts of the Goldfields and
adjacent South Interior. Areas of rain extending southeast from the central and
southern Lower West district, through central parts of the South West Land
Division and into the South East Coastal and adjacent South Coastal districts.
Chance of an afternoon shower over the eastern Central Wheat Belt and far north
Kimberley. Windy over southeastern parts of the state in the afternoon and
evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the southeastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southwestern South Interior, Eucla, and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Thunderstorms may be severe over central parts of the Goldfields.
Areas of rain over southeastern parts of the South West Land Division, easing
during the day. Chance of a shower over the South Coastal district and in the
afternoon over the far north Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Goldfields, southwestern South
Interior, and Eucla. Showers over the South East Coastal district and adjacent
southern Goldfields in the morning, and developing over the South West district
during the day. Chance of an afternoon shower over the far north Kimberley.
Possible morning fog over southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Thursday 9 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and east Goldfields, south and
central South Interior, and Eucla. Showers over southern coastal districts of
the South West Land Division clearing during the afternoon. Chance of an
afternoon shower over the far north and northwest Kimberley. Windy at times
over southeastern parts.
Forecast for Friday 10 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and central Goldfields, west and
central South Interior, south and east Gascoyne, and northern South West Land
Division. Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the far north and
northwest Kimberley. Windy over central parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Tuesday.
