Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the southern Kimberley to the Pilbara coast and will
remain roughly stationary during the next few days, developing a weak low near
the northern Gascoyne coast early next week. A weakening tropical low drifts
southwest out of the NT into far northeastern parts of WA during the weekend,
with a ridge pushing through central parts from Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge will remain in place across central and southern WA into next
week. A new west coast trough will begin to develop from Sunday. A trough over
the Interior weakens on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley, Interior,
Goldfields and Eucla, with possible heavy falls. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms over remaining parts of the Kimberley as well as eastern parts of
the Pilbara, Gascoyne and South East Coastal districts. Showers and drizzle
over inland and southern parts of the South West Land Division. Cool across the
Goldfields.
Forecast for Sunday 15 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Eucla and northern and
eastern Goldfields, with possible heavy falls. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms over the central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and
eastern parts of the South East Coastal district. Light showers and drizzle
over southern and inland parts of the South West Land Division and southwest
Goldfields. Cool across the Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior, with
possible heavy falls. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the central and
eastern Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne. Light showers and drizzle over eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, the southern Goldfields, Eucla and
remaining eastern parts of the Interior, mainly in the morning and early
afternoon. Possible morning fog over the South East Coastal and eastern parts
of the South Coastal districts.
Forecast for Tuesday 17 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior, with
possible heavy falls. Chance of showers and thunderstorms near the Pilbara
coast. Light showers and drizzle over the eastern Goldfields, South East
Coastal, Eucla and remainder of the Interior, mainly in the morning and early
afternoon. Windy in the morning across the western Gascoyne, Central West and
along the Darling Scarp. Temperatures warming near the west coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 18 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central Interior and
eastern Pilbara. Light showers and drizzle over the Eucla. Hot near the west
coast.
