Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough across the Pilbara and Kimberley is weakening and will dissipate on
Monday. A new trough will push into the Pilbara and North Interior from
southern WA on Tuesday ahead of a fresh and gusty southeast wind change, with
the trough moving into the Kimberley on Thursday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge over southeast WA is weakening as a trough over the South West Land
Division moves east, ahead of a weak cold front advancing through the Bight. A
new ridge will arrive about the southwest coast tonight and will build across
southern WA early in the week, extending into central WA on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 8 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley, and western
Pilbara. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over southern and eastern
Kimberley, eastern Pilbara and western Gascoyne. Chance of a light shower
across inland and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over
the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, and northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division, milder about the South West and Lower West coasts. Windy
along the west coast.
Forecast for Monday 9 March
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley,
northern and western Pilbara, and inland Gascoyne. Showers over South West Land
Division, most likely over the southern districts. Chance of morning fog over
South East Coastal district. Very hot through inland northern and eastern parts
of the South West Land Division, western Eucla, Goldfields, inland Gascoyne,
Pilbara and western Interior. Milder about coastal parts from Albany to
Israelite Bay. Windy along the west coast.
Forecast for Tuesday 10 March
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far north and far west Kimberley,
northeast Pilbara, adjacent northwest North Interior and Eucla. Showers over
southern and central parts of the South West Land Division, southwest
Goldfields and far southern Gascoyne. Very hot through eastern Eucla, far
eastern Goldfields, northern inland Gascoyne, Pilbara and Interior. Cool over
the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Windy over southwest
Pilbara, central and southern parts of the state.
Forecast for Wednesday 11 March
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over western and northern Kimberley,
eastern Pilbara, northern parts of North Interior and eastern Eucla. Showers
and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division, western Eucla,
far southern Goldfields and far southern Interior. Very hot through the Pilbara
and North Interior. Cool over southern and central WA. Windy over the Pilbara,
southern parts of North Interior, central and southern parts of the state.
Forecast for Thursday 12 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms over the Pilbara and adjacent North Interior. Light showers and
drizzle over southern coastal districts and southern Goldfields, mostly in the
morning. Windy over the Pilbara, North Interior and central parts of the state.
