Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists across the north this weekend. A
southeasterly surge through the Interior will shift the trough of low pressure
northwards, into the Kimberley, from Monday. A tropical low may develop over
the Kimberley or waters just off the Kimberley coast early next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough has begun moving inland as a weak cold front is passing
through the Bight. A new ridge is developing over southwest WA and will extend
further east during the weekend, shifting the inland trough to the Gascoyne. A
west coast trough will redevelop early next week.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 28 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with the chance of a shower or
gusty thunderstorm over the inland and northeastern Pilbara and North Interior.
Light showers south of a line Bunbury to Bremer Bay clearing by evening. Chance
of light showers extending from Bremer Bay east along the coast to Israelite
Bay during the afternoon and evening. Very hot in the western Pilbara. Windy
over the west and southern Gascoyne and South West Land Division, with cooler
conditions across coastal districts.

Forecast for Sunday 1 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of a shower or gusty
thunderstorm over the northeastern Pilbara and north and east North Interior.
Showers over the eastern Eucla and southeastern parts of the South Interior,
contracting to the eastern Eucla coast in the afternoon. Very hot over the west
and central Pilbara and northern Gascoyne. Cool over southern parts of the
South West Land Division and southern Goldfields. Windy along the west coast
and about the southeast of the State.

Forecast for Monday 2 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern North Interior.
Localised heavy falls possible over the eastern and northern Kimberley. Chance
of a shower or gusty thunderstorm over the northeastern Pilbara and remaining
northern North Interior. Very hot across the Pilbara, western Gascoyne, and far
north Central West district. Windy over the Pilbara, Gascoyne and Interior,
mainly in the morning.

Forecast for Tuesday 3 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeastern Pilbara, North
Interior and far northeastern parts of the South Interior. Localised heavy
falls possible in northern parts of the Kimberley. Very hot across the western
Pilbara, western Gascoyne and inland Central West district. Windy over the
Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior and southern Kimberley, mainly in the morning.

Forecast for Wednesday 4 March
Showers and thunderstorms over Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, North Interior and
far northern parts of the South Interior. Very hot across the western Pilbara,
western Gascoyne, and inland Central West and inland northern Lower West
districts. Windy over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior and southern Kimberley,
mainly in the morning.
