Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weakening tropical low over the Interior is slowly moving south. Meanwhile, a
trough extends across the Pilbara and Interior. A southeasterly wind change
will push the trough into the Kimberley from the Interior next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front is moving east across the Bight as a ridge develops over
southern WA during the weekend, pushing a weak trough over the South West Land
Division into the Gascoyne. The trough will move to the west coast on Monday
and deepen during next week.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 21 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and
eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, and central and
eastern Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the southern and central Interior, and
eastern Eucla. Possible showers or drizzle about the south coast and adjacent
inland parts. Very hot through the western Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.
Windy through Eucla and adjacent southern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 22 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and
eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, and eastern Eucla. Localised heavy falls
possible over the central and eastern Interior, and far eastern Eucla. Possible
morning shower or drizzle along about the south coast and adjacent inland
parts. Very hot through western Pilbara and western Gascoyne. Cool over the
southern districts of the South West Land Division, Eucla and southern
Interior. Windy across central and southeastern parts of the state.
Forecast for Monday 23 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern
Interior, Pilbara, and northern Gascoyne. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm
with little or no rainfall over the remaining western Gascoyne and inland
northern parts of Central West district. Very hot through the southwest
Pilbara, western Gascoyne and northern inland parts of Central West. Cool over
eastern Eucla, South Interior and far eastern parts of the Goldfields. Windy in
the morning through central parts of the state.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern
Interior, Pilbara, and northern Gascoyne. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm
with little or no rainfall over the remaining western Gascoyne, Central West
and far northeastern Central Wheat Belt districts. Very hot through the inland
parts of Central West and northern inland parts of Lower West districts. Cool
over eastern Eucla and southern Interior. Windy across across central and
southwestern parts in the morning, and over the Eucla and southern Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Northern Interior, much of
the Pilbara, and northern Gascoyne. Possible morning shower or drizzle over the
central and eastern Eucla. Very hot through the Central West and inland parts
of Lower West districts. Windy across across central and southwestern parts in
the morning, and over the Eucla and southern Interior.
