Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough across the Pilbara and Kimberley will extend into the North Interior
on Monday. A tropical low will slowly develop over the Kimberley next few days,
most likely moving offshore across the southwest Kimberley coast or far east
Pilbara coast middle of next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough is moving inland ahead of a cold front brushing the
southwest coast. The trough will move to the Goldfields and inland Gascoyne on
Sunday, reaching the Interior and Eucla on Monday. A new ridge arrives about
the southwest coast later Sunday and builds across southern WA early next week.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 14 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara and inland Gascoyne. Heavy falls possible
over the Kimberley and North Interior. Chance of an afternoon and evening
shower or thunderstorm over western parts of the South West Land Division.
Windy at times over the western Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara.
Forecast for Sunday 15 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, eastern and central Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and western Goldfields.
Heavy falls possible over the southern and western Kimberley, and North
Interior. Showers over central and southern parts of the South West Land
Division with the chance of a thunderstorm over the southern districts.
Forecast for Monday 16 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and
eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north and east Goldfields, Eucla and
eastern parts of South East Coastal district. Heavy falls possible over
southwest Kimberley, northern Interior and eastern Pilbara. Light showers and
drizzle possible over southern parts of the South West Land Division and
southwest Goldfields. Very hot through eastern Eucla. Windy about the south
coast, Eucla, southeast Goldfields and far southern Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 17 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and eastern Eucla.
Heavy falls possible over southwest Kimberley, northern Interior and eastern
Pilbara. Very hot through southwest Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Windy over
southeastern and central parts of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 18 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, Pilbara, and far northern Gascoyne. Heavy falls possible over
southwest Kimberley, northern Interior and eastern Pilbara. Very hot through
southwest Pilbara, western Gascoyne and far northern parts of Central West.
Windy at times south of the Kimberley.
