Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough across the Pilbara will extend through the North Interior from
Thursday, persisting as a broad area of low pressure in northern WA for the
remainder of the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the east Gascoyne to the South Australian border,
currently being pushed northwards by a ridge of high pressure over southern WA.
A west coast trough will develop from Thursday, strengthening, then moving
inland on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 11 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior,
and far northeast Goldfields. Heavy falls possible with thunderstorms in the
Interior. Showers over the southeastern Gascoyne, remaining Goldfields, and
Eucla, with the chance of a shower in the far northeast Central Wheat Belt
District and along the south coast east of Albany. Windy over southern parts of
the State.
Forecast for Thursday 12 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, and northern
and central Interior. Moderate to heavy falls possible over the north Interior.
Showers possible over the remainder of the Interior, southeast Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, South East Coastal, South Coastal, southeast Great Southern,
and northeast Central Wheat Belt districts. Windy at times over southern and
central parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 13 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central Interior,
east and central Pilbara, and far northeast Gascoyne. Showers possible over the
remainder of the eastern Interior, southeast Goldfields, Eucla and south coast
east of Albany. Windy at times over central parts of the state.
Forecast for Saturday 14 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern
Interior, much of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern Central Wheat Belt,
and South West, South Coastal and southern Great Southern districts. Showers
possible over much of the remainder of the South West Land Division, and west
Goldfields. Windy morning over the Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 15 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, much of the Interior, east
and central Pilbara, east Gascoyne, north and central Goldfields, northeast
Central Wheat Belt, and southern districts of the South West Land Division.
Showers possible over remaining central and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, remaining Goldfields and west Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Thursday.
