Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Tropical Low 21U is expected to move into the Kimberley from the Northern
Territory by this evening, tracking west/southwestwards and reaching the
Kimberley coast by Thursday evening. There is a moderate chance of 21U
developing into a tropical cyclone as it moves off the Kimberley coast over
water.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast coast trough is moving inland through southern and central parts
of the state today, as a ridge strengthens from the southwest. Another west
coast trough will start to develop from Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 4 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara,
and Northeast Interior. Isolated heavy rainfall possible in the Kimberley.
Light showers possible about the South East Coastal district. Very hot over the
northern Central West, west Gascoyne, and west Pilbara.
Forecast for Thursday 5 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara
and northern and central Interior. Isolated heavy rainfall possible in the
Kimberley. Light showers possible along the south coast east of Albany and
through the South East Coastal district in the morning. Very hot over much of
the Central West, west Gascoyne, west Pilbara and northern Goldfields. Windy at
times over much of the State, including the Darling Escarpment.
Forecast for Friday 6 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, most of the
Pilbara, Interior, and northeast Gascoyne. Isolated heavy rainfall near the
west Kimberley coast. Very hot over the Central West, western Gascoyne, western
Pilbara districts and northern Goldfields. Windy at times about about the
Gascoyne and Pilbara.
Forecast for Saturday 7 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior,
northern and eastern Goldfields, Gascoyne, Eucla and inland parts of the
northern and central South West Land Division. Possible heavy falls near the
east and central Pilbara coast depending on movement of Tropical Low 21U. Very
hot over the Central West, western Gascoyne and western Pilbara districts and
northern Goldfields. Windy at times over the Gascoyne and east Pilbara.
Forecast for Sunday 8 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior,
northern Goldfields, Gascoyne and far north of the Central West district.
Possible heavy falls near the Pilbara coast depending on movement of Tropical
Low 21U. Very hot over the Gascoyne, Central West district and northwest
Central Wheat Belt. Windy over the Pilbara, particularly about the coast.
