Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends across the north. A tropical low is likely
to move into the Kimberley from the Northern Territory during the middle of the
week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system to the south east extends a ridge over central and
southern parts of the country. A west coast trough will start to move inland as
a weak cold front brushes the south coast this evening. Another ridge will
build over southeastern WA in the wake of the trough.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 2 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, and northwestern Gascoyne. Light showers possible along the
western south coast in the evening. Very hot over the western Gascoyne, western
Pilbara and western and southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy
over the Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 3 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Interior,
and far northern Gascoyne. Light showers possible over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Very hot over the northern Central West, western
Gascoyne and western Pilbara. Windy over the southern and eastern Kimberley,
North Interior, inland Pilbara, western Gascoyne, and the South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 4 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara,
and North Interior. Isolated heavy rainfall possible in the Kimberley. Light
showers possible about the South East Coastal district. Very hot over the
northern Central West, west Gascoyne, and west Pilbara. Windy at times over
much of the State, including the Darling Escarpment.

Forecast for Thursday 5 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, and northern and central Interior. Isolated heavy rainfall possible
in the Kimberley. Light showers possible along the south coast east of Albany
in the morning. Very hot over much of the Central West, west Gascoyne, and west
Pilbara. Windy at times over much of the State, including the Darling
Escarpment.

Forecast for Friday 6 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern
and central Interior, and northern Gascoyne. Light showers possible about
coastal parts of the South Coastal district. Very hot over the Lower West,
Central West, western Gascoyne, and western Pilbara districts. Windy at times
about southern districts, and about the Pilbara.
