Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough has moved closer to the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts as a broad east
to southeast wind flow develops over inland parts. A weak tropical low may
develop off the Kimberley coast over the next few days, moving closer to the
coast or inland over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough is located offshore, while a firm ridge envelops southern WA. The
ridge starts to shift east later Wednesday, allowing the trough to move inland
across the west coast on Thursday ahead of a weak cold front brushing the south
coast on Friday. A weak ridge will form in the southwest before another cold
front approaches over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 20 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Pilbara, and the far northern Interior. Light showers possible about the Eucla
coast. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Central West and Lower West districts. Windy at times south of the
Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 21 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeastern Pilbara, and
far northern Interior. Possible light showers along the south coast east of
Esperance.Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, North
Interior and western parts of the South West Land Division. Windy south of the
Kimberley. Areas of morning smoke haze over the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 22 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Pilbara, and northern Interior. Possible heavy rainfall over the north
Kimberley coast. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Possible morning light showers along the Eucla coast.
Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Interior, Gascoyne, and
northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times
south of the Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 23 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, much of the Pilbara,
northern and western Interior, and northeast Gascoyne. Possible heavy rainfall
over the northern Kimberley. Light showers or drizzle over southern parts of
the South West Land Division. Very hot over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior,
northeast Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, and Eucla. Windy through the Interior,
Eucla and Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 24 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, much of the Pilbara,
Interior, and northeast Gascoyne. Possible heavy rainfall over the Kimberley.
Light showers or drizzle about the southwest coast. Windy through the Interior
in the morning.
