Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts of the state and will persist into next
week. A tropical low forming over the Top End in the Northern Territory during
the weekend may move into the Timor Sea to the north of the Kimberley early
next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A west coast trough deepens and moves inland today ahead of a weak cold front
brushing past the south coast tomorrow. A new ridge will develop about
southwest WA from the weekend and expand along southern WA on Monday. A west
coast trough will return later Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 16 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, western Goldfields, and inland and southern parts of the South West
Land Division.Very hot over the southern Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne and inland parts of the South West land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 17 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and eastern and southern parts of
the South West Land Division. Showers possible southwest of Busselton to Bremer
Bay. Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and western Eucla. Windy at times over the
Interior, Goldfields, and Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 18 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara
and northeast Gascoyne. Very hot over the southern and eastern Kimberley,
Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and northern inland parts of
the Central West. Light showers about the coast east of Albany. Windy at times
over the southern Interior, eastern Goldfields, Eucla and western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 19 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and far northern
Gascoyne, with possible heavy rainfall in the north Kimberley. Very hot over
the southern Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne, far northern
Goldfields, inland parts of the Central West and northern parts of the Lower
West. Windy at times over the Interior, eastern Goldfields, and Eucla.
Increased risk of tropical cyclone activity north of the State.
Forecast for Tuesday 20 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and western Pilbara, with
possible heavy rainfall in the north Kimberley. Very hot over the southern
Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne and northern and western parts
of the South West Land Division. Windy at times over central parts of the
State. Increased risk of tropical cyclone activity north of the State.
