Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough persists over the Kimberley as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hayley has moved
into the NT, with the trough extending into the Pilbara and down the west
coast. The trough moves inland from the coast over the weekend and becomes a
broad area of low pressure into next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies to the south of the state with a trough down the west coast,
moving inland later Friday. This trough broadens and lingers through eastern
parts into next week. A weak cold front passes to the south of the state on
Monday, with a new ridge developing in it’s wake.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 2 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and Interior. Very hot over the western Pilbara, western
Gascoyne and inland northern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 3 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Pilbara and
northern parts of the Interior. Very hot over the western Pilbara, western
Gascoyne and inland central and northern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 4 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara and
northern inland parts of the Gascoyne. Very hot over the southern Kimberley,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior, much of the inland South West Land Division,
Goldfields and northwest Eucla.

Forecast for Monday 5 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far North Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne and far northeast Central West district. Chance of a late
light shower about the western south coast. Very hot over the southern
Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior, much of the inland South West Land
Division, Goldfields and inland Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 6 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far North Interior,
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and north and east Central Wheat
Belt. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior, far
northeast South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla.
