Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough of low pressure has moved closer to the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts.
The trough will gradually move inland as a southerly flow develops over western
Pilbara due to a ridge to the south.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough is moving onshore ahead of a weak cold front brushing the south coast
today. A new ridge is developing along the southwest coast today in the wake of
the trough and will expand east along the south coast on the weekend. The next
west coast trough will develop mid-next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent North Interior,
far northern Pilbara, southern and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division and southern Goldfields. Light showers possible about the west and
southwest districts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through the
Pilbara, southwest Kimberley, eastern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields and western Eucla. Windy at times over the Interior,
central and southern WA.

Forecast for Saturday 27 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley and the northeast
Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm over the western Eucla and eastern South East
Coastal district. Light showers possible about the south coast west of Albany.
Very hot through the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, Interior
and eastern Eucla. Windy over southeastern and central WA.

Forecast for Sunday 28 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, inland parts of the
Pilbara and Gascoyne, northeastern parts of the South West Land Division, the
Goldfields. Eucla and western Interior. Showers possible through southern parts
of the South West and South Coastal districts. Very hot through the Pilbara,
southern Kimberley, northern Gascoyne, northern and central Interior. Windy at
times over southern and central WA.

Forecast for Monday 29 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern and central
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northeast Central Wheat Belt, Goldfields. Eucla and
western Interior. Showers over southern coastal districts. Very hot through the
Pilbara, southern Kimberley, northern Gascoyne and northern Interior. Windy
over southern and central WA.

Forecast for Tuesday 30 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Central Wheat Belt, northern Goldfields. Eucla and Interior. Showers over
southern coastal districts east of Walpole. Very hot through the Pilbara,
northwest Gascoyne and northern Interior. Windy over central and southeastern
WA.
