Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough of low pressure has moved closer to the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts
as an easterly flow develops over inland areas.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge persisting across much of southern WA will move eastwards on
Thursday. A trough is deepening offshore and will move close to the west coast
during Thursday before moving inland on Thursday evening, ahead of a weak cold
front brushing the south coast on Friday. A new ridge will develop along the
southwest coast later on Friday and expand east along the south coast on the
weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 24 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent North Interior,
Pilbara, much of the Gascoyne and northern Central West district. Very hot
through the western Pilbara, western Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West and
northern parts of South West districts. Windy at times over central and
southern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 25 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast North Interior,
most of the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West and north and west
Central Wheat Belt and northwestern parts of the Great Southern. Very hot
through the western Pilbara, southwest Kimberley, western Gascoyne, and western
and southwestern districts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times over
the Interior, central and southern WA.
Forecast for Friday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent North Interior,
northeast coastal Pilbara, southern and inland parts of the South West Land
Division and southern Goldfields. Light showers possible about the west and
southwest districts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through the
Pilbara, southwest Kimberley, eastern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields and western Eucla. Windy at times over the Interior,
central and southern WA.
Forecast for Saturday 27 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara,
far southeast Gascoyne, northeast Central Wheat Belt, northern Goldfields and
adjacent southern Interior. Light showers possible about the south coast of the
South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western Eucla. Very hot
through the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, Interior and
eastern Eucla. Windy over southern WA and west Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 28 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, eastern
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields. Eucla and western Interior. Light showers possible about the south
coast of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western Eucla.
Very hot through the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, and
Interior. Windy over southern and central WA.
