Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure through inland areas will move closer to the coast
as an easterly flow develops, moving back inland later in the week once the
easterly flow weakens.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge persists across much of southern WA. A west coast trough is
deepening and will move offshore on Wednesday before moving inland on Friday
ahead of a weak cold front.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 22 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara
and inland northern Gascoyne. Light showers about the south coast, contracting
to the east of Esperance in the evening. Very hot through the Pilbara and
northern Gascoyne. Windy at times over central WA, and over southeastern parts
later in the day.
Forecast for Tuesday 23 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
north and west Gascoyne and northern parts of Central West district. Light
coastal showers east of Esperance, contracting east and clearing by evening.
Very hot through the Pilbara, western Gascoyne, Central West and northern parts
of Lower West. Windy at times over central WA and southern WA.
Forecast for Wednesday 24 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, much of the
Gascoyne, Central West and northern parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Windy at
times over central and southern WA. Very hot through the western Pilbara,
western Gascoyne, Central West and Lower West and northern parts of South West
districts. Windy at times over central and southern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 25 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast North Interior,
most of the Pilbara, Gascoyne, and northern and southwestern parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot through the western Pilbara, southwest Kimberley,
western Gascoyne, and western and southwestern districts of the South West Land
Division. Windy at times over the Interior, central and southern WA.
Forecast for Friday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent North Interior,
Pilbara, southern and eastern Gascoyne, southern and inland parts of the South
West Land Division and western Goldfields. Light showers about the west coast
of the South West Land Division. Very hot through the Pilbara, southwest
Kimberley, eastern Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields and western Eucla. Windy at times over the Interior, central and
southern WA.
