Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist and deepen over inland areas in the
north this week and during the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system will move eastwards into the Bight on Friday, extending
a ridge over southern and central parts. A west coast trough will develop on
Friday. moving inland during the day ahead of a weak front brushing the
southwest. Another ridge will develop across the southwest on Saturday, pushing
into central parts on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 18 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far North Interior, far
southwest Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northwest Goldfields and far western
Interior, Light showers possible near the coast east of Albany. Windy at times
over southern WA.
Forecast for Friday 19 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern North Interior,
far east and south Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, and northern
and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers over the
Eucla. Very hot through the west Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and inland northern
parts of Central West district. Windy at times over southern and central WA.
Forecast for Saturday 20 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, most of the
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Light showers about the remaining southern districts of the
South West Land Division. Very hot through the west Pilbara. Windy at times
over southern and central WA.
Forecast for Sunday 21 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, most of the Pilbara and inland Gascoyne. Windy at times over central
WA.
Forecast for Monday 22 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, most of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Light
showers possible over south coastal districts. Windy at times over central WA.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Friday.
