Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will remain over inland areas in the north this
week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough is deepening offshore from the west coast associated with a low
pressure system, as a high pressure system strengthens in the Bight. The high
will move east on Monday, allowing the trough to return to the west coast. The
trough will move inland ahead of a cold front brushing the south coast by
Tuesday. A new ridge will build across the southwest coast from Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 14 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and west
Goldfields and much of the South West Land Division west of Ravensthorpe.
Thunderstorms may be severe across southwest WA. Very hot over the South West
Land Division away from the south coast. Windy at times through central and
southern parts.
Forecast for Monday 15 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and west
Goldfields, and much of the South West Land Division west of Esperance.
Thunderstorms may be severe across the South West Land Division. Very hot over
the South West Land Division and southwest Pilbara. Windy at times through
southern and central parts.
Forecast for Tuesday 16 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, and
northern inland parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the
western and southern districts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over
inland and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, western Eucla and
southern Goldfields. Milder temperatures for the western districts of the South
West Land Division. Windy at times through the Interior, Goldfields and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and far western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, and northern and
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the southern
and western districts of the South West Land Division. Milder temperatures for
the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Very hot through the
eastern Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent southern Interior. Windy across the
southern districts.
Forecast for Thursday 18 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, western Eucla, and northern and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division. Light showers about the southern districts of the South West
Land Division. Windy at times over southern WA.
