Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will remain over inland areas in the north into
next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deepening trough near the west coast will move offshore on Sunday and a weak
low pressure system will develop within the trough, as a high pressure system
strengthens in the Bight. The high will move east on Monday, allowing the
trough to return to the west coast. The trough will move inland ahead of a cold
front brushing the south coast on Tuesday. A new ridge will build across the
southwest coast from Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 13 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and
eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern and central Goldfields, and northern
and central parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through northern
and central parts of the South West Land Division and inland Gascoyne. Windy at
times through central and southern parts of the state.
Forecast for Sunday 14 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, central and eastern Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and west
Goldfields and much of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the South
West Land Division away from the south coast. Windy at times through central
parts, across the Eucla and southern Interior in the afternoon and evening, and
about the Darling Scarp in the morning.
Forecast for Monday 15 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central
Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne, north and west Goldfields, and much of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over the South West Land Division. Windy at times
through southern and central parts.
Forecast for Tuesday 16 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, and central and eastern parts
of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the western districts of
the South West Land Division. Very hot over inland and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, western Eucla and southern Goldfields. Milder
temperatures for the western districts of the South West Land Division. Windy
at times through the Interior, Goldfields and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla, central and
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Light showers about the
southwestern districts of the South West Land Division. Milder temperatures for
the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Very hot through the
eastern Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent southern Interior. Windy across the
southern districts.
