Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure sits across the Pilbara and Kimberley, with a
ridge returning to the southern Interior from Saturday and pushing the trough
to the northwest.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough extending from the Gascoyne to the Goldfields will gradually
move westwards to be located near the west coast by the weekend where it will
deepen. The trough will move offshore on Sunday as a high pressure system moves
into the Bight and strengthens.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 11 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, and inland and eastern parts
of the South West Land Division. Chance of a light shower about the south coast
between Windy Harbour and Bremer Bay in the evening. Windy at times across the
southern districts and through western Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara.
Forecast for Friday 12 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and eastern, central and
inland northwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of a morning
shower or drizzle over the South Coastal and adjacent Great Southern District.
Windy at times through the Eucla, southern Interior, Goldfields, southeast
Gascoyne, and northeastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 13 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara apart
from the far west, most of the Gascoyne and Goldfields, and northern and
central parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through northern parts
of the South West Land Division. Windy at times through central and southern
parts of the state, and about the Darling Scarp in the morning.
Forecast for Sunday 14 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, north and west Goldfields and most of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over western coastal districts of the South West Land
Division, away from the south coast. Windy at times through central parts,
across the Eucla and southern Interior in the afternoon and evening, and about
the Darling Scarp in the morning.
Forecast for Monday 15 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, and northern, central and western parts
of the South West Land Division. Very hot over western and southwestern coastal
districts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times through southern and
central parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Friday.
