Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough sits along the Pilbara and Kimberley coast, moving inland on Monday
and developing into a broad low-pressure system, persisting throughout the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough develops through inland parts of the South West Land Division today.
The trough moves eastward on Monday as a weak cold front brushes the far south
coast. The next high pressure ridge forms over the far south of the state from
Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 7 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern Interior, most
widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a late shower about the
coast between Augusta and Albany.
Forecast for Monday 8 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast North Interior, most
widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over the northeastern Gascoyne, far
northern Goldfields and western Interior. Light showers possible south of a
line from Harvey to Israelite Bay. Very hot through the Interior, Pilbara,
inland Kimberley and Gascoyne. Windy through southern and western districts in
the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara, Interior,
Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne, eastern South West Land Division and far west
Eucla. Windy at times over much of the State. Very hot through the Interior,
Pilbara, inland Kimberley and Gascoyne.
Forecast for Wednesday 10 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Goldfields, central and
eastern Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne, southeast Goldfields and most of the
Eucla. Chance of a light shower near the coast east of Albany.
Forecast for Thursday 11 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
Interior, Goldfields, inland southern parts of the South West Land Division and
inland Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Monday.
