Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist across inland areas. A ridge to the
south will bring a brief southeasterly wind change to the North Interior and
Pilbara on Sunday, pushing the trough closer to the coast before moving back
inland next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure about the southwest coast will build across southern
WA after a weak front brushes past the south coast on Friday, pushing an inland
trough northwards on Saturday. A new trough will develop through inland parts
of the South West Land Division on Sunday and move eastwards on Monday. A
second weak front will brush past the south coast on Monday ahead of the next
high pressure ridge.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 4 December
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
adjacent South Interior, and inland parts of the Dampier Peninsula in the
Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 5 December
Possible showers and gusty thunderstorms over, far northeast Gascoyne, eastern
Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over northern Kimberley. Light showers possible south of a line
from Harvey to Israelite Bay. Chance of morning fog over South East Coastal
district. Milder than normal across much of the South West Land Division, very
hot through inland Eucla, Interior, inland Pilbara and Kimberley. Windy in the
afternoon and evening through the Eucla, eastern Goldfields and southern
Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 6 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, over most of the
Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the Interior. Light showers
possible the south coast in the morning. Chance of morning fog over southern
parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through northern Interior,
Pilbara and Kimberley. Windy through the Eucla, southern and central Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 7 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern North Interior, most
widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a late shower about the
southwest coast. Chance of morning fog over southern parts of the South West
Land Division. Very hot through northern Interior, Pilbara, Kimberley, Gascoyne
and northern inland parts of Central West district. Windy through the North
Interior and inland Pilbara in the morning, windy through western Gascoyne and
southwest Pilbara in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Monday 8 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent east Pilbara and
northern Interior, most widespread over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of
a shower or thunderstorm with little or rainfall over eastern Gascoyne and far
northern Goldfields. Light showers possible south of a line from Harvey to
Israelite Bay. Very hot through the Interior, Pilbara, Kimberley, Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and northern inland parts of Central West district.
