Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Fina is slow-moving over the northeast Kimberley and will
gradually decay over the next day or two. A broad trough remains through the
Pilbara and North Interior. The trough will push northward during the weekend
as a ridge strengthens into the southern Pilbara and North Interior.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front that brushed the South West will weaken and contract away during
tonight. A trough extends from the inland Gascoyne into the Goldfields and is
moving towards the east. A high pressure ridge will strengthen over southern
and western WA in the wake of this trough and become more firmly established
late week into the weekend. A new trough will deepen down the west coast during
Sunday as the high moves towards the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 26 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley, possible heavy
falls. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the remainder of the Kimberley,
north and central Interior, southeast Pilbara, and northeast Gascoyne. Light
showers south of a line Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay and east along the south coast
to Eucla, contracting to southwest of Perth to Bremer Bay during the afternoon
and evening.
Forecast for Thursday 27 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Interior, with possibly
heavy falls in the north Kimberley. Light showers over southern coastal
districts of the South West Land Division, contracting to the western south
coast by evening. Very hot through the southern inland Kimberley and northern
Interior. Windy afternoon over the Gascoyne coast.
Forecast for Friday 28 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, east Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, and east Eucla. Light showers possible over southern
coastal districts of the South West Land Division, clearing during the morning.
Hot through the southeast inland Kimberley and north Interior. Windy over the
Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 29 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central Interior,
inland eastern and central Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, and far northern
Goldfields. Light showers possible over the South Coastal and South East
Coastal districts in the morning. Morning fog possible over southern districts.
Windy morning over central parts.
Forecast for Sunday 30 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara,
northern Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, and far northern Central West.
Morning fog possible over southern districts. Windy morning over central parts.
