Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over the Interior has pushed a trough closer to the Pilbara coast and
over northern Kimberley. The ridge weakens from Tuesday, allowing the trough to
move inland on Wednesday and Thursday. In the longer term, a tropical low
currently located well to the north of the Kimberley may move closer to its
north coast on the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure extending over southern WA will gradually weaken
on Tuesday, contracting to the south coast on Wednesday and moving away.
Meanwhile, a trough located offshore is deepening associated with a low
pressure system. The trough and low pressure system will move across the west
coast later Wednesday and further inland on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 17 November
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Chance of
a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over southern Kimberley,
adjacent north Interior, Gascoyne, inland Pilbara, Central West and northern
parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Windy at times over northwest Gascoyne.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 November
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Gascoyne, far western
Interior, western Goldfields, northern and central parts of the South West Land
Division. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over northern and western
Kimberley and inland Pilbara. Chance of showers over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Chance of morning fog through South East Coastal and
Eucla districts.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over southern and eastern Gascoyne, western
South Interior, Goldfields, western Eucla and South West Land Division. Chance
of a shower or thunderstorm over northern and western Kimberley, northwest
Gascoyne, inland Pilbara and North Interior. Windy at times over the Eucla and
adjacent southern Interior.

Forecast for Thursday 20 November
Showers and thunderstorms with areas of rain over the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, Eucla and South Interior. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over
the Kimberley, far eastern Pilbara , southern and far eastern Gascoyne and
North Interior. Windy at times over the southern districts, South Interior, and
Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 21 November
Showers and thunderstorms with areas of rain over the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, Eucla and South Interior. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over
the Kimberley, southern Gascoyne and North Interior. Windy at times over the
southern Interior and Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Tuesday.
