Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the east Pilbara into the Interior with a ridge forming
over the Gascoyne coast. Fresh to strong southerly winds forecast
about northwestern Pilbara coastal waters between the trough and ridge. The
trough extends back towards the west Pilbara in the middle of the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies over eastern parts of the state. A cold front will move across
the south of the state on Sunday, followed by a cut-off low on Monday. A ridge
will develop from Tuesday pushing the trough and cut-off low east of the state
by Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 18 October
Light showers southwest of a line Lancelin to Narrogin to Albany, becoming less
likely during the afternoon. Showers and isolated thunderstorms over the
central and eastern South East Coastal District, with showers extending north
into the far eastern Great Southern, southeast Central Wheat Belt and southern
Goldfields. Showers and thunderstorms also over the Kimberley, far northeast
Pilbara, eastern Eucla and adjacent South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 19 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the
Pilbara, Interior, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, far northeastern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, and Eucla, tending more frequent with
moderate falls over the Kimberley. Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to
Esperance. Possible morning fog over the inland Central West district. Hot over
the South Interior. Windy at times over the southeast Interior and Eucla, and
over northwestern WA in the evening.
Forecast for Monday 20 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over much of the State, with the exception
of the far western Pilbara, far western Gascoyne and far northern parts of the
South West Land Division. Patchy morning fog or frost over central and southern
parts of the South West Land Division, with fog possible also over inland
northern parts. Windy at times over central and eastern WA.
Forecast for Tuesday 21 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Eucla, eastern
Goldfields and central and eastern South East Coastal district. Isolated
showers over remaining central and southern parts of the South West Land
Division and southern Goldfields, clearing during the afternoon. Windy over the
southeast of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 22 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central
Interior, southeast Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields.
Isolated, mostly morning showers over southern coastal parts. Morning fog and
frost possible over inland southern parts of the South West Land Division, with
frost also possible in central parts of the South West Land Division and
southwest Goldfields. Windy over central parts of the state in the morning.
