Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over the Kimberley is moving northwards and will move offshore to be
near the coast on Tuesday as a ridge builds to the east. A new trough will
develop over the Pilbara during Tuesday and linger until the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front is moving past the south coast as a ridge over the southeast
of the state contracts away. A trough developing over the South West Land
Division will move to the Goldfields on Wednesday, ahead of another weak cold
front brushing past the southwest coast. A new ridge will extend quickly along
the south coast on Thursday ahead of a west coast trough developing on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 13 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley, and
northern Interior. Smoke haze over southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Warm to hot across inland parts of Central West, Central Wheat Belt,
adjacent Great Southern, and inland parts of South East Coastal district.
Forecast for Tuesday 14 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Chance of a late shower about the
south coast to the west of Esperance. Areas of morning fog over southern parts
of the South West Land Division. Smoke haze possible in the southwest. Hot
through eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt, far eastern Great Southern,
inland parts of South East Coastal, northwest Eucla, southern Interior and
Goldfields. Windy through Interior, Goldfields, Eucla, eastern Gascoyne and far
eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 15 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, Eucla and eastern Goldfields. Light showers possible over
central and southern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of morning
fog over southwestern parts of the South West Land Division, far west Kimberley
and northwest coastal Pilbara. Hot through northern and eastern parts of the
Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Windy through Interior, eastern
Goldfields and Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 16 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and eastern Pilbara,
more frequent over the Kimberley. Light showers possible south of a line
Fremantle to Bremer Bay. Morning fog possible over southern parts of the South
West Land Division, far southwest Kimberley and northwest coastal Pilbara.
Forecast for Friday 17 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Showers south of a line
Mandurah to Bremer Bay. Morning fog possible over southwestern parts of the
South West Land Division. Hot through northern and eastern inland areas of the
South West Land Division. Windy at times during the day over southern WA.
