Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough is moving northwards into the Kimberley, as a ridge to the south
pushes east to southeasterly winds into the Pilbara and North Interior. The
ridge will move east on Monday, strengthening over central Australia on Tuesday
and pushing the trough over the Kimberley offshore. A new trough will form over
the western Pilbara during Tuesday and linger until the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad ridge sits over southern WA. A weak cold front will brush the southwest
coast late tonight, pushing past the south coast on Monday. The ridge will
begin to move east on Monday as a trough develops over the South West Land
Division. The trough will move to the Goldfields on Wednesday, ahead of another
weak cold front brushing past the southwest coast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 12 October
Showers and possible gusty thunderstorms over the northern and eastern
Kimberley, and northeast Interior. Light showers south of a line from Harvey to
Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Monday 13 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley, and
northern Interior. Light showers south of a line Mandurah to Esperance,
clearing around midday. Areas of morning fog over southern parts of the South
West Land Division. Warm to hot across inland parts of Central West, Central
Wheat Belt, adjacent Great Southern, and inland parts of South East Coastal
district. Windy in the morning through central Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 14 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Chance of a late shower about the
south coast to the west of Esperance. Areas of morning fog over southern parts
of the South West Land Division. Hot through eastern parts of the Central Wheat
Belt, far eastern Great Southern, inland parts of South East Coastal, northwest
Eucla, southern Interior and Goldfields. Windy through Interior, Goldfields,
Eucla, eastern Gascoyne and far eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 15 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, and eastern Goldfields. Light showers possible over central
and southern parts of the South West Land Division. Morning fog possible over
southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Hot through northern and
eastern parts of the Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Windy through
Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 16 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and eastern Pilbara,
more frequent over the Kimberley Light showers possible south of a line
Fremantle to Bremer Bay. Morning fog possible over inland southern parts of the
South West Land Division.
