Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lays across northern WA, retracting into the North Interior and
southwest Kimberley this weekend. A ridge to the south weakens on Friday, and
pushes east to southeasterly winds across the Pilbara and Interior on Sunday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge sits over southern WA. The ridge will slip to the south coast on Friday
and weaken, strengthening again on Saturday. A weak cold front will then brush
the southwest coast late Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 9 October
Showers and isolated thunderstorms over northwestern coastal areas, and
northern and eastern parts of the Kimberley. Chance of a light shower about the
Albany coast. Mostly clear over the remainder of the state.

Forecast for Friday 10 October
Light morning showers about coastal and adjacent inland parts between Mandurah
and Albany, and along the Esperance coast. Afternoon showers and the chance of
a thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley and northeast Interior.
Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley, eastern coastal Pilbara,
inland parts of the South West Land Division, far southern Goldfields and
southern Eucla. Patchy morning frost over inland southern and central parts of
the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 11 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the
northern and eastern Kimberley, eastern Interior and eastern Eucla. Light
showers about the south coast between Cape Leeuwin and Esperance, clearing
during the afternoon. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley,
eastern coastal Pilbara, inland southern parts of the South West Land Division,
far southern Goldfields and southern Eucla. Patchy morning frost possible over
the far southwest Central Wheat Belt, western parts of the Great Southern and
adjacent South West district.

Forecast for Sunday 12 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the
northern and eastern Kimberley and eastern Interior. Light showers about the
South West Capes and western south coast to Albany. Possible morning fog over
the northwest Kimberley and southern districts.

Forecast for Monday 13 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the
Kimberley and northern Interior. Light showers southwest of a line Mandurah to
Albany, clearing in the afternoon. Possible morning fog over the northwest
Kimberley and inland southwestern and southern districts of the South West Land
Division.
