Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low in the Kimberley extends a trough of low pressure down the west coast. A
high over southern Australia will direct a southeasterly surge through the
Pilbara and southern Kimberley on Thursday before the trough pushes inland on
Friday. A ridge of high pressure will restrengthen through eastern parts over
the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge will move eastwards as a west coast trough develops on
Thursday. The trough will move inland on Friday ahead of a cold front
approaching from the west. A cloud band will develop over southern and central
WA over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 1 October
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the far north Kimberley. Areas of smoke
over southwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 2 October
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the far north Kimberley and far east
Kimberley in the afternoon and evening. Possible morning fog over the north and
northwest Kimberley, southern coastal districts and far southeast Goldfields.
Chance of patchy morning frost over the Great Southern. Warm to hot over
northern and central parts of the South West Land Division. Windy in the
morning through North Interior, eastern Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and far
southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 3 October
Showers developing about the South West and Lower West districts, extending to
south of a line Jurien Bay to Albany in the evening. Chance of a shower over
northwest Gascoyne in the evening. Afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm
over the north and east Kimberley and eastern parts of North Interior. Possible
morning fog over the north and northwest Kimberley, South West, South Coastal,
southwest Pilbara and far west Gascoyne. Warm to hot over eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla. Windy across the Gascoyne,
parts of the South West Land Division, southern Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 4 October
Rain, showers and possible thunderstorms over the South West Land Division,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and western Pilbara. Possible morning fog
over west and southwest Kimberley. Hot over eastern parts of the Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Windy across the Interior and Eucla during the day.
Forecast for Sunday 5 October
Showers over the South West Land Division. Showers and rain areas over the
Gascoyne, far western Pilbara, Goldfields, and Eucla. Hot over eastern parts of
the Interior. Windy across the Interior and Eucla during the day.
