Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough continues east over the far north of the North Interior Tuesday
evening, then lingering in the southern Kimberley until Wednesday. A ridge
developing over the west coast on Thursday renews the moderate to fresh
southeasterly flow over the west Pilbara, strengthening from Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure about the central west coast will be interrupted by a
cold front which will move into the southwest on Wednesday. A series of weak
fronts then brush the far south through to late Thursday. Another ridge begins
strengthening over the central west from Thursday, with its axis of high
pressure gradually sliding south to meet the south coast on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 16 September
Light showers south of a line from Lancelin to Narrogin and extending along the
south coast to Albany. Clear elsewhere.

Forecast for Wednesday 17 September
Showers most frequent southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay,
extending to southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay during the
afternoon. Possible thunderstorms over the South Coastal district and adjacent
parts of the Great Southern, South West, and South East Coastal districts.
Patchy morning frost through the far eastern Wheat Belt and southwestern
Goldfields. Possible morning fog through the far north Kimberley and Central
West district.

Forecast for Thursday 18 September
Chance of light showers over the west and south of the South West Land
Division, more likely about the south coast. Patchy morning frost over the
southwest Central Wheat Belt and central Great Southern. Possible morning fog
over the far north Kimberley and over northern parts of the inland South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 19 September
Light showers over the Eucla coast and the central and southern South West Land
Division, retracting to the south coast in the afternoon. Patchy morning frost
over the southern Central Wheat Belt and adjacent parts of the Goldfields.
Possible morning fog over the western South West Land Division and Eucla. Fresh
and gusty morning over the west Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.

Forecast for Saturday 20 September
Light showers over the south coastal districts, retracting to the coastal
fringe in the afternoon. Patchy morning frost in the far southwest Goldfields
and eastern Central Wheat Belt. Possible morning fog over inland parts of the
south coastal districts, the Great Southern, and the far southern Goldfields.
Warm over the western Gascoyne. Fresh and gusty morning over the east Pilbara
and the North Interior.
