Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies near the west Pilbara coast and will move east across the Pilbara
and Interior over Sunday. An associated cloud band is bringing unseasonal rain
to much of the Pilbara and parts of the Interior over the weekend, easing on
Monday with a new ridge.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cloud band extends over most of western and southern WA on Saturday. A trough
over the inland South West Land Division is moving east, ahead of a cold front
which will cross the South West Land Division and Gascoyne on Sunday. A cold
air mass behind the front will bring cold, windy conditions as it moves across
the South West Land Division on Monday. A low pressure system and trough may
move over the far southwest on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 23 August
Rain and chance of a thunderstorm over the western Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Possible heavy falls over the western Pilbara. Showers over
the remainder of the South West Land Division, becoming more frequent near the
west coast in the late evening.
Forecast for Sunday 24 August
Areas of rain and showers over much of the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southern and central Interior and Eucla. Showers and isolated gusty
thunderstorms in the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields, with
isolated heavy falls possible about the west coast and Darling Scarp. Small
hail possible south of a line Harvey to Denmark. Chance of morning fog over
near the west Kimberley coast. Windy south of the Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 25 August
Showers over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior, southwestern
parts of the North Interior, Eucla and South West Land Division. Isolated gusty
thunderstorms with small hail over the South West Land Division with possible
snow flurries atop the Stirling Range. Cool to cold over the South West Land
Division, southern Gascoyne and southwest Goldfields. Chance of morning fog
near the west Kimberley coast. Windy south of the Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 26 August
Showers over the southern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, southern Eucla,
eastern South Interior and South West Land Division. Isolated gusty
thunderstorms near the south coast between Walpole and Esperance. Small hail
possible in southern parts of the South West Land Division. Cold morning with
the chance of frost about the southwest Goldfields, inland Gascoyne, Central
Wheat Belt and Great Southern. Windy through the southern Kimberley, Pilbara,
Interior, Goldfields and Eucla.
Forecast for Wednesday 27 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, far southern
Gascoyne and Eucla. Cold morning with the chance of frost about the inland
central and eastern South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and South
Interior. Possible morning fog over inland western parts of the South West Land
Division and southwest Gascoyne. Windy morning over the eastern Pilbara,
southern Kimberley and North Interior.
