Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough near the west Pilbara coast will move inland tonight and on Thursday.
A weak ridge forming over central and southern WA on Thursday will quickly move
east on Friday, ahead of a new trough forming over western Pilbara by Saturday.
A lingering patchy cloud band will thicken over the Pilbara over the weekend
and will bring unseasonal rain to the region.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cloud band extending from the Gascoyne to the Eucla will weaken and contract
further north and east on Thursday and Friday. A cold front sweeping through
the South West Land Division will weaken in the evening as it moves inland. A
weak ridge will extend over southern and central WA on Thursday and Friday
before moving east ahead of a trough forming near the west coast by Saturday.
Associated cloud band will thicken over southern and central WA ahead of a cold
front arriving on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 20 August
Areas of rain, showers and chance of gusty thunderstorms over the Gascoyne,
Goldfields and Eucla. Isolated heavy falls possible over southern Gascoyne
until early evening. Showers and isolated gusty thunderstorms over the South
West Land Division, easing in the evening. Light showers over southwest
Pilbara. Windy at times across central and southern WA.

Forecast for Thursday 21 August
Showers and drizzle over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Gascoyne,
western and southern Pilbara, much of the South Interior, and Eucla, mostly
clearing towards evening. Chance of morning fog over the southwestern
Kimberley, northwest Pilbara, western Gascoyne and adjacent Central West
district. Windy at times across eastern Interior.

Forecast for Friday 22 August
Light showers over southern parts of Lower West, South West, South Coastal,
western parts of Great Southern, southern Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and South
Interior. Chance of morning fog over the eastern Eucla, southern Interior and
far west Kimberley. Chance of morning fog and frosts over inland parts of the
South West Land Division and southern Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 23 August
Rain over southern and western Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, South
Interior, and eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Showers developing over
the remainder of the South West Land Division. Chance of morning fog over the
far west Kimberley. Windy at times through the Interior and Gascoyne.

Forecast for Sunday 24 August
Areas of rain, showers and isolated thunderstorms over much of the Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern and central Interior, Eucla and South West Land
Division. Chance of morning fog over far west Kimberley. Windy south of the
Kimberley.
