Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Pilbara and west Kimberley. A developing trough
near the west Pilbara coast on Wednesday will move east through the Pilbara on
Thursday, associated with a cold front moving across southern WA. A weak ridge
forms over southern WA on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is continuing to move over northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division during the remainder of Tuesday. It will then move through
the Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla during Wednesday. Another cold front moves
over southwest parts on Wednesday. A ridge will extend over the central west
coast in the wake of the cold front on Thursday, and persist until the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 19 August
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the South West Land Division.
Showers over the southern Goldfields and western Eucla.
Forecast for Wednesday 20 August
Showers and gusty thunderstorms southwest of Shark Bay to Israelite Bay, with
moderate to heavy falls possible over northern parts of the area. Showers
developing over remaining areas southwest of Exmouth to Madura during the day.
Chance of morning fog about the western Gascoyne and western and coastal
Pilbara. Becoming windy across much of the state south of the northern
Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 21 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Gascoyne, western and
central Pilbara, much of the South Interior, and Eucla, mostly clearing towards
evening. Chance of morning fog over the southwestern Kimberley, northeast
Pilbara, southwest Gascoyne and adjacent Central West district.
Forecast for Friday 22 August
Showers about the western south coast, extending east to Israelite Bay during
the day. Slight chance of a shower over remaining southern parts of the South
West Land Division, southwest Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and north and central
eastern South Interior. Chance of morning frost over inland southern parts of
the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Chance of morning fog
over the eastern Eucla and southern parts of the South Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 23 August
Showers increasing over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla, South
Interior, Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
